Tonya Parson BSN, MSN
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Tonya brings to Passport Health and her clients a vast array of knowledge and experience gained over a 13 year professional career in nursing and healthcare. Her focus has been on acute and critical care as well as nephrology and renal diseases for the majority of her time in practice, but recently has shifted with a new primary focus on wellness, illness prevention, community outreach, and education.
Tonya spent a great deal of time at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. During her tenure, she gained excellent experience in several nursing arenas including critical care, medical-surgical nursing and management. Tonya was the Coordinator of the Medical Response Team, and led the Tenet Hospital Group in spreading this initiative to all other hospitals in the system. In 2006, she was voted “Top 100 Nurses in Shelby County”, “Caregiver of the Year” by Tennessee Hospital Association and also received the “Nurse of Distinction Award”. Saint Francis was listed as a Mentor Hospital by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement under her leadership in 2007.
Tonya is recognized as a versatile, results-oriented, health care practitioner with an outstanding record as an exceptional leader, known for keen listening skills and a client-focused approach.
A native Tennessean, Tonya earned a BS in Biology in 1993 from University of Tennessee at Martin. In 1999, she completed her BS in Nursing at Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee. After several years of critical care, home health and travel nursing, she obtained her Master of Science Degree in Acute and Critical Care from University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Since that time, Tonya has obtained certifications in Critical Care Nursing and Fundamentals of Critical Care.
An eager traveler herself, Tonya believes that education, appropriate immunizations, and supplies are as essential as a well planned itinerary and a well-packed suitcase!
Cassandra M. Hawkins, MD
MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr.Cassandra Hawkins is founder and CEO of Hawkins Family Medicine, PLLC, located in Holly Springs, Mississippi. A native of Louisiana, Dr. Hawkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr.Hawkins completed her internship and medical residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Tipton, Tennessee.
Dr. Hawkins is Board Certified in Family Medicine with the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians. She also serves as a certified Medical Review Officer by the American Association of Medical Review Officers. Dr. Hawkins’ interests include preventative medicine, complicated hypertension and hypercholesterolemia management, diabetes, and occupational and travel medicine.
