Active infection swab test
Passport Health provides the following tests is to diagnose whether or not you are currently infected with Covid-19. A diagnoses gives you and your healthcare provider the proper information to take the necessary steps to protect friends and family from contracting the virus, as well as taking the proper steps towards recovery.
Types of tests we provide
RT-PCR Test
RT-PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) detection. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms. It is the most accurate test in detecting COVID-19 and is also required by many travel destinations and airlines to allow travel/entry without mandatory quarantine. Passport Health can provide quick results, averaging 24-48 hours, to fulfill travel requirements.
Rapid Antigen Test
This test provides the fastest results for patients who may be infected with Covid-19. This test detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus, and results can be determined within 15 minutes. Passport Health can provide this test to anyone looking for fast results with or without symptoms to determine whether or not they have COVID-19.
Who can get tested: Active infection testing may be right for you if you are currently experiencing Covid-19 symptoms. Most common symptoms include coughing, fever, and shortness of breath. An active infection test may also be right for you if you have knowingly been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 or showed similar symptoms to Covid-19. It should be known that individuals can be asymptotic carriers of the virus. Meaning, it’s possible to carry and spread the virus while still feeling healthy. A test is recommended prior any social interactions to protect individuals who are considered high risk.
How does the tests work: Our healthcare providers at Passport Health will collect a sample according to the specific test of your choice. Shortly after the sample is collected, it is then sent for diagnostics and results are provided once they are available.
How can I get more information: Participating Passport Health locations are conducting these tests for anyone by appointment only.

Immune Response Blood Test (Antibody Test)
This test detects antibodies in the blood to determine whether or not a patient has already been exposed to and produced an immune response to Covid-19 — even if an individual has never showed symptoms. Showing previous exposure to Covid-19 means an individual may have some level of immunity to the virus. Understanding an immune response to the virus allows you and your healthcare provider to make an informed decision on whether or not to safely return to work or activity.
Types of tests we provide
IgG/IgM Blood Draw
This test is designated to detect antibodies against COVID-19. This test is the most accurate in detecting antibodies and results typically take 24-72 hours.
Rapid Antibody Test
This test is a rapid finger-prick test designated to show whether a person has previously been infected with COVID-19 and now has antibodies. Test results can be determined within 15 minutes.
Who can get tested: Immune response testing (Antibody testing) is available for patients who are not currently showing symptoms of Clovid-19 or haven’t had symptoms in the last 14 days. The test is also available to individuals who have never showed Covid-19 symptoms. Most common symptoms of Covid-19 include coughing, fever, and shortness of breath.
How the test works: After scheduling an appointment, one of Passport Health’s health care providers will collect a blood sample that will be sent to diagnostics to determine final results.
